We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Therapist to join our growing organization at Mental Health Center of San Diego! As a Mental Health Therapist at MHC, you are trained and licensed to treat clients with emotional, behavioral and mental disorders. Our clients are dealing with issues such as stress, grief, addiction, depression or conflict. The Clinical Therapist will also work with patients who have higher-acuity disorders, such as Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder.

Other responsibilities include:

• Counseling sessions including one-to-one, group therapy, or sessions involving family members.
• Observes client to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior
• Selects and administers various tests, such as psychological tests, personality inventories, and intelligence quotient tests
• Plans and administers therapeutic treatment
• Crisis Intervention
• Documentation in clients’ charts
• Discuss progress towards clients’ goals
• Other duties assigned as need arises and according to programmatic need

This Mental Health Therapist position is versatile, and the duties may change from day to day so the ability to prioritize job functions is key! The ideal Mental Health Therapist candidate must have the following:

• Valid AMFT or ACSW license
• Master’s Degree
• Current certification in CPR

Bonus skills for the Mental Health Therapist position are:

• Experience in primary mental health and dual diagnosis residential treatment facility preferred
• CBT and evidence-based experience a plus
• Experience with trauma and eating disorders preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
