Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting students' mental health and academic success through assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educators and families. This role requires a strong understanding of special education needs, crisis intervention strategies, and effective communication skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy to address various mental health issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Manage cases involving students with autism and other developmental disorders, ensuring appropriate support is provided.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies in response to student emergencies or behavioral issues.
- Facilitate conflict management sessions among students to promote positive relationships and resolve disputes.
- Provide training and resources for staff on best practices in school psychology and mental health awareness.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, and crisis intervention.
- Knowledge of special education laws and practices related to student support services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, including students with autism and other special needs.
- Demonstrated ability in conflict management and effective communication strategies within a school environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
