This is a provisional position that allows individuals to gain the requirements to become a Behavior Intervention Specialist (Bachelor's Degree) or a behavior Intervention Professional (Master's Degree). A Bachelor's Degree in a human service field is required, or the applicant must be within 24 units of graduating with a bachelor's degree in a human services field (current college students are encouraged to apply). Once the individual has 1,040 hours of supervision, a relevant bachelor's degree, and has completed the RBT course, the individual will be promoted to a Behavior Intervention Specialist.

Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains knowledge of individuals, their health and medical needs, and their service plans.
- Provide intervention to meet the needs of the participant by developing adaptive skills for all and addressing maladaptive behaviors for participants within the home, school, or community.
- Maintain communication and collaboration with participants' families, physicians, and officials regarding therapeutic interventions of each individual assigned to the caseload.
- Review weekly paperwork regarding assigned caseload and verification of accuracy.
- Collect data/document service requirements daily.
- Evaluate the progress of each participant and implement new interventions as necessary to meet individuals' needs based on current skill level.
- Understand, implement, and follow rules set forth by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- Must complete annual training requirements, as determined by DCI’s Policies and Procedures.
- Must take a 40-hour RBT course provided by DCI upon employment.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a human services field or within 24 units of graduating with a relevant bachelor's degree.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance.
