General Summary

Provides behavioral health counseling services.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient assessments and establishes therapy treatment goals.
• Administers individual and group therapy. Maintains thorough and confidential records of observations.
• Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
• Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
• Works directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.
  
  

Education/Experience Required -

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association Education:
• Master's Degree required.
• MCBAP credential preferred
• High quality therapy skills
• Skilled with co-occurring disorders and trauma -
• Professional and/or personal experience with recovery - -
• Team mentality as a prevailing trait -
• Exceptional ability to communicate and problem-solve with others -
• Self-accountability and follow through -
• Preferred experience with county systems (FOCUS/ODIN/MHWIN)
  
  

Certification/Licences Required

One or more of the following required: -

• Licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Licensed Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Licensed Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
