Salary Range: $110,000 to $165,000/year
Info: Working independently and in collaboration with Physicians, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible to deliver care and integrate patient services with the goal of achieving specific clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes for specific patient populations and disease processes. Coordinates with patient's healthcare team. Adheres to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses. Delivers healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner demonstrating sensitivity towards unique patient/significant other needs. Preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs. Demonstrates the ability to advocate for the patient/significant other.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education - Masters in Nursing required. Doctorate Degree in Nursing Preferred. Completion of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program.
- Experience - Five years experience as a Registered Nurse. One year experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Licensure/Certification - License to practice as Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland required. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required. ACLS and PALS (if applicable) in compliance with policy required. For Wound Center only - ACLS in compliance with policy required. For Brook Lane only - Maintain American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification in Family Psychiatry and Mental Health.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise. Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire. Will have EHR computer access.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Comprehensive psychiatric care for patients as approved through Brook Lane's privileging and credentialing process and in compliance with Brook Lane policies.
Leadership of a multidisciplinary treatment team. - Participation in the peer review process and continuous process improvement projects as required by the Chief Medical Officer
- Attend and actively participate in all meetings of the multidisciplinary treatment team, Medical Staff, and assigned committees as required by the Medical Staff By-Laws.
- Close collaboration with members of a multi-disciplinary team for the purpose of evaluation, treatment, and disposition of patients.
- Flexibility and willingness to work with patients and staff across Brook Lane's continuum of care (inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient).
- Provides consultation to other professionals in areas of expertise, when asked.
- Maintains documentation of services provided in compliance with Brook Lane policies.
- Meets all inpatient coverage expectation.
Job Details
- Approximately 20 patients a day
- 5 day work week, Monday-Friday
- Call: phone coverage and reserve inpatient coverage
