About This Opportunity
- Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of an assigned program in the federal residential and other substance abuse programs.
- Maintains case-load of consumers based on workload, staff needs and enrollment in program.
- Prepares and maintains up-to-date electronic case notes, consumer records and reports.
- Utilizes evidence-based counseling techniques including but not limited to motivational interviewing, 12 Step counseling, cognitive therapy techniques.
- Sends monthly reports to Probation Officers as required; makes frequent court appearances.
- Working knowledge of group dynamics, disease concept of addiction, Twelve Step recovery program and relapse prevention.
- Skilled in interpersonal relations and crisis intervention
- Ability to prepare & maintain accurate complete case notes & records.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science or a related field or Qualifies as a QSAP I or II.
- And certified as a substance abuse counselor through NAADAC or AADAA;
- Licensed as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW, or ability to achieve certification within first 24 months of employment.
- And two years clinical experience in the substance abuse or mental health field or any equivalent experience
