SOCIAL WORKER

Bridgeport, Hartford, Stamford

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Social Worker I for Bridgeport, Hartford and Stamford juvenile court jurisdictions. This position serves as an integral part of the defense and/or child protection team for clients and will be assigned to one office location with duties throughout the surrounding towns/cities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to consulting with attorneys regarding the legal disposition of child protection, juvenile delinquency, and criminal cases, but providing diagnostic screening, mitigation, and child client home visits; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:In accordance with PA 19-164, the successful applicant is required to have a BSW, an MSW, or a Doctorate in Social Work, with an exception for anyone employed by the State prior to July 1, 2019 with a title in the Social Work series of classified State service.

The candidate may be required to possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Starting Salary:$65,116 annually with full State benefits. Progression to Social Worker 2 after completion of two (2) years of service.
