Precision machine shop, has an immediate need for an experienced Machine Shop Estimator, to join our winning team in Fond Du Lac.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:.
- Receive and review RFQs from customers.
- Interpret customer-supplied prints, specifications and proposals to determine labor, material, outsourcing, and time requirements.
- Estimate manufacturing time and material costs using Jobboss2 ERP system.
- Prepare and submit complete cost estimates and quotations based on data analysis.
- Build routings and set accurate quoted prices.
- Coordinate and communicate with shop managers, quality and shipping.
- Select qualified vendors for outside services (e.g., heat treating, plating, NDT) based on compliance and quality standards.
- Build strong relationships and maintain relationships with customers.
- Monitor and track production performance using OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and purchasing to ensure estimates are feasible and align with operational capabilities.
- Work closely with customers to clarify project details, timelines, and expectations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support production and project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
- Strong background in CNC Milling, CNC Turning, and Swiss Machining
- Ability to read and interpret prints and technical specifications
- Excellent math skills and knowledge of shop math
- Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably JobBoss2) and Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in general computer use.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ITAR regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Technical Proficiencies and Core Competencies
- An understanding of Quality Assurance and Control
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Vendor Selection and Negotiation.
- Blueprint and Specification Interpretation.
- Management of Outsourced Manufacturing Services.
- Process Development and Continuous Improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in a machining and manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
- Prior involvement with outsourcing coordination (e.g., plating, heat treating, NDT)
- CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
