We take full advantage of this natural setting, making every day another opportunity for campers to explore the forest, practice target sports, or launch a canoe from the waterfront. In addition to a huge catalog of activities and games, we structure each session to create a classic, outdoor summer camp experience!Position SummaryA Camp Fireweed Counselor adheres to Camp Fire Alaska’s (CFAK) promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are through positive and responsible youth/adult interactions within the day camp environment. A Cabin Counselor is primarily responsible for the minute-to-minute supervision of a group of campers while working with other counselors and specialists to participate in and facilitate a variety of camp activities such as field games, swimming, boating, hiking, creative arts, target sports, rock wall climbing, outdoor living skills/nature exploration and much more!AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
  • Cabin Counselor:
  • This position primarily is responsible for the minute-to-minute supervision of a group of campers while working with other counselors and specialists to participate in and facilitate a variety of camp activities.
  • Qualifications:
  • Sixteen (16) years of age or older required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Prior experience working with youth preferred.
  • Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider required *American Red Cross preferred
  • Pay: $17.50/hour
  • Bonus for completing the full season
  • Work Dates: May 5th - August 8, 2025 (beginning with start-up training)
  • Work Schedule:
  • Full time 9 hours a day, Monday - Friday
  • Lead Cabin Counselor: *Must have prior experience working for a Camp Fire Alaska outdoors camp.*
  • This position primarily is responsible for the minute-to-minute supervision of a group of campers while working with other counselors and specialist to participate in and facilitate a variety of camp activities and teachings.
  • Qualifications:
  • Sixteen (16) years of age or older required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Prior experience working at an outdoors camp at Camp Fire Alaska.
  • Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider *American Red Cross preferred
  • Pay: $18.56/hour
  • Bonus for completing the full season
  • Work Dates: May 5th - August 8, 2025 (beginning with start-up training)
  • Work Schedule: 9 hours a day, Monday - Friday
