Responsibilities include college, career, personal, and social counseling, advisement with students/parents individually and in groups on educational planning, and development/implementation of programs to meet student and parent needs.

Collecting and reporting data (NACAC website)

Qualifications include a Masters Degree in School Counseling from an accredited college or university and a current Illinois Elementary Professional Educator License (PEL). Classroom experience is preferred.

The counselor provides services to address academic, personal/social, and career development needs, collaborates with problem-solving teams, and works closely with families, staff, administration, and outside agencies.

Assists students with post-secondary planning, including school enrollment, course selection, and scheduling.

Participates in activities that contribute to the counseling program and school operation, including crisis intervention and system support.

Engages in professional growth and performs other duties as assigned.
