Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. You will work in various settings, including inpatient facilities and clinics, to deliver comprehensive counseling services that promote recovery and well-being. Your expertise will be crucial in helping clients navigate their challenges and develop effective coping strategies.
Duties
- Conduct assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine the needs of clients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and goals.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions focusing on substance use issues, including crisis management.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to foster peer support and shared experiences.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients with co-occurring disorders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment interventions.
- Engage in clinical research to stay updated on best practices in chemical dependency treatment.
- Offer grief counseling and support for clients dealing with loss related to addiction.
- Implement applied behavior analysis techniques as needed for clients with developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of chemical dependency and addiction treatment methodologies.
- Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Proficient in crisis management techniques to effectively handle emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
- Ability to conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with inpatient care protocols within hospital environments.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical research participation.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $56,835.00 per year
