Founded in 1852, Wartburg College is a selective four-year liberal arts college of the Lutheran Church (ELCA), nationally recognized for community engagement. The college offers more than 50 academic majors and pre-professional and certificate programs leading to the bachelor’s degree. POSITION: Assistant Professor of Psychology—open specialization
TITLE: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track or Visiting Assistant Professor, Titled, based on applicant’s qualifications
START DATE: August 2025

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will provide evidence of the following qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in Psychology or equivalent terminal degree or ABD with clear promise of completion; Masters degree considered with substantial teaching experience
- Prior successful college-level teaching experience in psychology
- Promise of continued scholarly activity
- Ability to engage undergraduates in research, academic advising, and practice activities
- Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to supporting the success of all students in an educational and work environment and must be willing to support the College's mission and contribute to the strategic plan
The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of tenure track faculty to include:
- Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching seven courses (3-3-1) in the academic year including Introduction to Psychology; Research Methods sequence; courses related to the candidate’s areas of specialization; other courses as needed by the department.
- Other responsibilities may include instructing classes in the general education curriculum.
