The Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient management and coordination of medical equipment services. Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling of durable medical equipment deliveries and pickups.
- Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and Medicare regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding equipment needs and service updates.
- Maintain organized records of equipment inventory, orders, and patient interactions.
- Utilize software systems such as Eaglesoft and Meditech for documentation and scheduling tasks.
- Ensure adherence to proper phone etiquette when interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Assist in training new staff on office procedures related to durable medical equipment coordination.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical scheduling or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft and Meditech software systems is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and Medicare processes.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to perform thorough documentation reviews to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
- Proficient typing skills for efficient data entry and record management.
