TITLE: Stipend Opportunity Behavioral Health Services

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of School Counseling

STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The School Counseling Department seeks to develop a School Counseling Training and Resource Handbook to be shared with current and new school counseling staff district-wide.

This opportunity will occur primarily from May 1 2025, to July 31, 2025 as needed, between 20-30 hours. This position is required as part of the Project PROVIDE grant that BPS has received.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The School Counselor will need to be familiar with the specific content of the requested manual/handbook. They will be responsible for:

  • Creation of a comprehensive school counseling handbook
  • Inclusion of materials/resources pertaining to ASCA domains of Academic, Career and Social Emotional Development.
  • Academic: Course selection/scheduling process, MassCore graduation requirements, Academic monitoring tools, etc.
  • College/Career planning resources: college planning timelines by grade, FAFSA/financial aid guidelines, MyCAP implementation plans by grade level, etc.
  • Social Emotional Development- tier 1 SEL support strategies, referral protocols, MTSS guidelines, etc.

The stipend will be paid at the hourly rate of $56.81 for between 20-30 hours and once the responsibilities are completed.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:

  • Currently working as a school counselor in Boston Public Schools;
  • Licensed school counselor
