Northwoods Haven Recovery is a growing outpatient substance use treatment center dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals on their journey to recovery. We provide ASAM 1.0 & 2.1 245G Co-Occurring enhanced program tracks. Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality counseling services to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and holistic practices to promote emotional well-being and recovery. This role requires a strong understanding of various therapeutic modalities and the ability to assess and address the diverse needs of clients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough, comprehensive assessments according to standards of practice and care.
- Participates in care plan review to assess client’s progress in treatment and possible modification of treatment plan.
- Reassess clients' needs throughout treatment and make appropriate referrals based on ASAM criteria as needed.
- Develop individualized care plans based on the client’s recognition and acceptance of their disease and goals for recovery.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational interviewing.
- Utilize crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute distress or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and data collection in compliance with ASAM criteria and 245G statutes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Stay informed about developments in addiction medicine and behavioral therapy to enhance service delivery.
- Educate clients about medical terminology related to their treatment and empower them through knowledge.
Experience
- A valid MN Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) is required.
- Proven experience in individual group counseling, crisis intervention, and patient assessment is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, addiction medicine, and behavioral therapy practices is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques effectively.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and commitment to client-centered care are crucial for success in this role.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
