Job Title: Social Worker – Title V

Job Description: Under aTitle V Project, the incumbent will support the goal of expanding educational opportunities and improving the academic performance of students, especially those from low-income backgrounds. Focus on addressing academic, social, and emotional needs, promoting an inclusive, positive learning environment that fosters student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in addressing students’ socio-emotional well-being.
  • Provide counseling sessions, treatment plans, and workshops as needed, and establish prevention programs and intervention plans.
  • Help students suffering from abuse, violence, hunger, or homelessness to access resources such as shelters, food banks, and medical care.
  • Identify risk factors that may affect academic performance and design personalized intervention actions.
  • Coordinate with faculty, academic staff, and other campus professionals to refer and follow up on cases.
  • Prepare and conduct workshops and talks on stress management, self-esteem, mental health, resilience, and other relevant topics.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment that promotes equity and a sense of belonging.
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the project's impact through data collection and reports.

Requirements: Current Social Worker license to practice in Puerto Rico. Preferably, 2 to 5 years of experience working with college students both face-to-face and virtually. People-oriented, methodical, and able to multi-task effectively. Address groups and individuals with a high level of respect and sensitivity. Excellent presentation skills for workshops and seminars. Computer skills of MS Office.
