Your Role as Art Therapist

As our Art Therapist, you’ll guide young learners in creative expression, helping them work through social-emotional challenges, develop motor and sensory skills, and find joy in the artistic process. Your daily responsibilities will include:

Facilitating engaging, developmentally appropriate individual and group art therapy sessions.
Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team—including teachers, speech and occupational therapists, and psychologists.
Contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs) and documenting student progress.
Consulting with families to support carryover of skills and strategies at home.
Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and sensory-friendly art space that inspires creativity.

What We’re Looking For

You’re an empathetic, imaginative professional with a strong understanding of child development and a passion for supporting young children with special needs.

Required:

Master’s Degree in Art Therapy or related mental health field
Licensed or Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC preferred)
Experience working with young children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

Background in a preschool or early intervention setting
Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing challenges, and trauma-informed care
