Position: School Counselor - Long-Term Sub
Status: Temporary
Duration: October-March
Location: Days Park Campus
Reports to: Principal
Per Diem: 235.00
The Opportunity
We are looking for a School Counselor who:
- Promotes student success, provides preventative services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic and social-emotional development for all students.
- Plans and delivers an effective and comprehensive school counseling program
- Provides direct services (80%), and maintains program management, system support, and accountability (20%)
- Implements guidance/social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum
- Implements developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities
- Assists students individually or in groups with developing academic, personal, and social goals and plans
- Collaborates with parents/guardians and school staff to assist students with educational planning
- Provides individual and group counseling to students with identified needs
- Conducts risk assessments and makes appropriate recommendations and referrals
- Participates as a member of the Student Support Team
- Collects and analyzes data to guide program direction and monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- School Counseling Certification or comparable certificate/licensure
