Role Description
- Academic Guidance: Helping students set academic goals and develop effective study habits.
- Social-Emotional Support: Providing individual and group counseling to address issues like anxiety, peer relationships, bullying, or family challenges.
- Crisis Intervention: Responding to urgent situations such as grief, abuse, or mental health crises, and connecting students and families with appropriate resources.
- Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, parents, nursing staff, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment.
- Program Development: Designing and implementing school-wide programs on topics like conflict resolution, wellness, social emotional well being, and bullying.
Qualifications & Certifications:
- Education: A master’s degree in school counseling or a closely related field.
- Licensure/Certification required
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and staff.
- Empathy and discretion when handling sensitive topics.
- Problem-solving to guide students through academic or personal challenges.
- Organizational skills for juggling tasks, appointments, documentation, and the ability to to prioritize
