Job Overview - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

Compensation: $160,000 - $166,000/year

Location: Bronx, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Step into a key role as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the Bronx, NY, delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care in both in-person and telehealth settings. In this full-time outpatient position with our client, you’ll treat a diverse patient population, collaborate with an integrated care team, and maintain clinical autonomy while ensuring continuity of care for individuals with a broad range of behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

  • Mental Health Care: Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions across telehealth and in-person settings using evidence-based practices.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe and adjust medications, monitor treatment plans, and educate patients on use and side effects.
  • Collaborative Care: Coordinate with nurses, PCPs, social workers, and health educators to ensure integrated patient support.
  • Patient Support: Provide counseling, follow-up care, and planning for patients with ongoing mental health needs.
  • Documentation & Access: Maintain accurate EMR records and support continuity of care through case management and referrals.

Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

  • Licensure: Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Certification: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification, DEA registration, and BLS certification required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-residency experience providing psychiatric care in outpatient, primary care, or telehealth environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and comfortable navigating telehealth platforms.
  • Skills & Attributes: Empathetic, patient-focused, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills and a commitment to culturally responsive care.
