Your Impact:
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and district leaders to promote students’ mental health and academic success.
- Offer family programming, including parent/guardian support groups.
- Coordinate care plans with supervisors and families, providing referrals to external resources when needed.
- Enhance student support by fostering interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Conduct evaluations, consultations, and handle crisis situations.
- Maintain timely and detailed clinical documentation in InSite’s EHR.
- Provide initial psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment plans, incorporating therapy and/or medication management.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while clearly communicating with students and families about the treatment process.
- Perform behavioral threat assessments within schools.
Administrative & Compliance
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, IDEA, and New Jersey-specific education and mental health regulations.
- Commitment to ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality in school settings.

- Patience, flexibility, and calm demeanor in responding to behavioral crises or emotionally charged situations.
- Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills, especially in complex or ambiguous cases.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- ANCC board certification as a PMHNP.
- Valid APN and PMHNP licenses in New Jersey.
- DEA certification.
- Experience in mental health care for children and families (2-5 years preferred, but new graduates are welcome).
- Prior experience supporting youth with complex clinical presentations, including but not limited to:
- Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD)
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorder
