Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, process prescription orders in the computer system for filing.
  • Assists in gathering the necessary supplies/pharmaceuticals for staging of the prescription and products for the Pharmacist to check.
  • Assists in picking items listed on patient supply list prior to delivery.
  • Ensure that each new order is accompanied by a drug monograph and/or related teaching material.
  • Documents all related communications with pharmacy personnel, patients, physicians, nursing agencies and other related individuals.
  • Procurement of laboratory results and other related documentation to assist the Pharmacist in clinical care planning.
  • Assists physicians, nurses, and patients with technical support.
  • Assists and maintains all related pharmacy records (prescription logs, care plans, medication profiles, temperature logs, and any other related files), as determined by the Pharmacist.
  • Performs any other related task as determined by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager, or as determined by the State Board of Pharmacy or Joint Commission.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician training program, preferred
  • Minimum of six months Pharmacy Technician or related experience
  • Good working knowledge of pharmacy procedures
