Caperton Fertility Institute, one of the nation's leading Infertility treatment centers, is rapidly expanding and looking for a Medical Customer Service Specialist that is interested in a great team culture, exceptional patient care, excellence in clinical medicine, and jump starting their medical office management career. Work experience and knowledge of medical terminology related to the position are preferred but not required and most importantly, the ability to learn quickly, proven excellence in customer satisfaction with a positive attitude are a must! Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, medical terminology, and HIPAA are desired but not required. Prior employment in any customer service industry with proven success are a must. Our team is growing rapidly in the area and outside of our community. We utilize and employ some of the most advanced and unique laboratory facilities and clinical personnel in the country, to help couples build their families.

Required experience:

Desired knowledge and skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance plans
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, especially in women’s health, OB/GYN, or fertility (not required)
- Experience with EMR systems and insurance verification
- Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex situations with professionalism
- Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
- Exceptional interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Genuine passion for patient interaction and working collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable balancing both patient-facing and administrative responsibilities
- Punctuality, Professional demeanor, and a team-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Spanish (bilingual English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
Responsibilities Include:
Front Desk & Administrative Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients by greeting and checking in patients for their appointments.
- Check patients out and collect out-of-pocket payments.
- Prepare and review cost estimates for time-of-service payments, including verifying patient benefits.
- Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls, address inquiries, take detailed messages, and route calls appropriately.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency in scheduling, insurance verification, and patient intake procedures to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Prior Authorizations:
- Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests for services, ensuring timely processing to avoid delays in patient care.
Clinical Support:
- Assist clinical team with taking and recording patient vitals.
- Support rooming patients and preparing exam rooms.
- Turn over, disinfect, and restock exam rooms between visits.
- May occasionally serve as a chaperone during physician exams and procedures.
- Will be trained to assist with phlebotomy and injections if needed; not required upon hire.
