About Job

Under general supervision complete doctoral clinical training in psychology through participation in the one-year, full time Doctoral Psychology Internship Program. Services will include proficient diagnostic assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy for psychiatric disorders and psychosocial factors in Denver Health patients in outpatient and inpatient services. Also provides case management and case coordination to facilitate referrals as needed. Functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and provides clinical teaching appropriate for a psychology resident to other staff members. Remains actively involved as appropriate in quality improvement, data monitoring and in research projects. Participates as appropriate for a psychology resident with the Division of Psychology and provides teaching for psychology externs and for medical trainees as needed. Essential Functions: Provides culturally responsive, ethical clinical services including psychotherapy, assessment, and psychoeducation across various major and minor clinical training rotations. (25%) Participates in regular weekly supervision including individual and group supervision with delegated supervisors. (10%) Completes appropriate documentation of therapeutic activities, training requirements, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner. Participates in other departmental meetings as required by various training rotations. (25%) Participates in Psychology Internship seminars and other training opportunities. Participates in teaching psychology trainees and faculty in scheduled seminars during the internship year. When available, may provide supervision (under supervision) of psychology externs. (10%) Performs case management, care coordination, and outcome monitoring. (20%) Participates in scholarly or academic project(s) which may include research, quality improvement, or program evaluation under supervision/mentorship of identified training faculty. (10%) Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Doctorate Degree Student in good standing in an accredited American Psychological Association doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology, with attestation of preparedness for clinical internship by the doctoral program Director of Clinical Training. Work Experience: 1-3 years A minimum of 500 hours of completed practicum direct service hours prior to application, as well as four test batteries completed prior in internship, unless otherwise specified. Required. Licenses: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Has didactic training and supervised clinical training in psychological and diagnostic assessment and in evidence-based intervention. Possesses skills needed to participate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and to provide teaching to other members of the medical team and to medical students and other trainees about psychological. Can participate as a member of the psychology internship cohort and is able to form a productive supervisory relationship with the internship director and with the psychology supervisors on the major rotations. Must possess doctoral-level written and oral communication skills. Computer skills required.
