• State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor endorsement
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting all students' academic, social/emotional and career development
• Computer literacy and competency in use of Apple technology
• Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with staff and students
• Possess effective oral and written communication skills
• Believes in a growth-mindset and that all students can learn
• Bilingual Spanish preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists students in making educational, career and personal/social goals
• Provides guidance and counseling services in small and large group settings
• Supervises creation and implementation of Section 504 plans
• Maintains records as required by law, district policy and administrative procedures
• Active member of the school counseling instructional team and student support teams
• Provides related information to the special education screening teams
• Assists in the preparation of students for post-secondary success
• Assists in the remediation of problems that interfere with educational progress
• Maintains communication and positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents

The salary is commensurate with an individual's experience and training and per stipulations contained in the Board-Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, which can be found here. Additional stipend available for bilingual candidates who regularly translate.
