- State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor endorsement
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting all students' academic, social/emotional and career development
- Computer literacy and competency in use of Apple technology
- Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with staff and students
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Believes in a growth-mindset and that all students can learn
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists students in making educational, career and personal/social goals
- Provides guidance and counseling services in small and large group settings
- Supervises creation and implementation of Section 504 plans
- Maintains records as required by law, district policy and administrative procedures
- Active member of the school counseling instructional team and student support teams
- Provides related information to the special education screening teams
- Assists in the preparation of students for post-secondary success
- Assists in the remediation of problems that interfere with educational progress
- Maintains communication and positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents
The salary is commensurate with an individual's experience and training and per stipulations contained in the Board-Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, which can be found here. Additional stipend available for bilingual candidates who regularly translate.
