About Job

Position: Master of Social Work Internship

Description: Jewish Family Service is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and compassionate individual to work with clients to enhance their life skills, coping strategies, and interpersonal relationships. The Social Work Intern will receive in-depth training on assessment, treatment planning and intervention. Interns will receive individual supervision weekly.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of an MSW

  • Provide clinical assessment of psychological, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Complete diagnosis, treatment planning and crisis intervention
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy (individual, family and/or group) to a caseload of 8 to 12 clients
  • Develop and implement service plans and goals with clients
  • Evaluate client progress toward service plan goals and follow up with clients to ensure goals are met
  • Ensures all clinical documentation is timely and meets quality assurance standards
  • Learn and maintain legal and ethical responsibilities
  • Develop resource coordination and knowledge of local community providers
  • Collaborate with relevant treatment providers
  • Attend weekly individual and/or group supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in 2nd year of accredited Master of Social Work program
  • Prior experience providing clinical or rehabilitation-oriented services, including clinical case management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Creative in solving problems and meeting challenges
  • Basic understanding of social, psychological, medical, economic, and legal factors that affect behavior
  • Ability to work as a member of interdisciplinary team
  • Strong analytical skills
