Job Summary
The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges by providing compassionate care and assistance in their daily activities. This position involves working closely with patients to promote their well-being, facilitate therapeutic interventions, and ensure a safe and supportive environment. The Mental Health Technician will collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Responsibilities
- MUST BE FULLY LICENSED TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and engage patients in therapeutic activities.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions and progress.
- Implement treatment plans as directed by licensed mental health professionals.
- Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to assist patients in coping with their conditions.
- Conduct motivational interviewing to encourage positive behavioral changes among patients.
- Work collaboratively with families to provide child family counseling when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with ICD-9 coding standards for documentation purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in case management and understanding of mental health treatment protocols.
- Strong knowledge of group therapy techniques and their application in various settings.
- Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy principles and practices.
