About Job

Reporting to the Vice President of Partnerships and Government Relations (Vice President), the Director of Stakeholder Development (Director) is responsible for supporting stakeholder relations across an 11-county region. Specifically, the Director will play a critical role in the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive funding strategy and work plan for the NEI and its support and affiliate organizations, to meet their respective current annual fundraising goals, while growing and diversifying the funding base of corporations and small businesses, organizations, foundations and individuals. The Director is driven and relationship-oriented, and will help forge new connections to build NEI’s visibility, impact and financial resources. 

 

  • Participate in development and implementation of a comprehensive fund development strategy and work plan to secure funding support from corporations and small businesses, organizations, public entities, foundations and individuals. 
  • Recruit new investors and lead private sector fundraising activities across all organizations, by researching prospects, scheduling appointments and following up on verbal commitments.
  • Move potential investors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure.
  • Actively utilize the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to effectively drive action and organizational decision-making.
  • Prepare and/or compose reports, letters, memos, correspondence, charts, presentation materials and all other documents or materials as may be necessary to the work of stakeholder relations and fund development.
  • Partner with team members to ensure printed materials for recruitment of new investors and retention of existing are relevant and current.
  • Maintain knowledge of all organization stakeholders and their financial investment with the organization, and be prepared to answer questions about the organization. 
  • Directly interface with regional stakeholders, including corporate executives, business owners and managers, local economic development professionals, elected officials and foundation executives.
  • Organize and attend meetings and community relations events with stakeholders.
  • Handle special projects, as assigned.
