The Director of School Counseling acts as a pivotal figure in the support services offered to students and their families. This role involves creating and implementing programs that address the academic, social, and emotional needs of students, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills necessary for success in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns.
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and parents to identify and provide support for at-risk students.
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance and counseling programs for academic achievement and personal development.
- Facilitate workshops for parents and faculty on relevant topics.
- Manage US counseling team and collaborate with MS Counselor.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and evolve best practices in counseling.
- Engage with outside agencies and resources to support student needs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in school counseling, psychology, or a related field.
- Licensure or certification in school counseling (LGSW or LPC preferred).
- Minimum of five years of experience in counseling within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of developmental stages of adolescence and the challenges faced by middle and high school students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of connecting with students, parents, and faculty.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
