College of the Canyons is seeking a faculty leader in Transfer Counseling, a full-time, 11-month tenure track position starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. The role focuses on noninstructional counseling, transfer services, and support, with potential teaching and leadership duties.



About Transfer Counseling

Supporting over 2,000 students annually, the department helps students transfer to CSU, UC, out-of-state, and private colleges. This noninstructional role emphasizes transfer coordination and services, and is part of the Academic, Career, and Transfer Counseling Office.



Responsibilities include:

  • Providing transfer, academic, career, and life-skills counseling, both face-to-face and online.
  • Coordinating transfer events and workshops, creating and updating content.
  • Reviewing applications for Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG), certifying eligibility, liaising with four-year institutions, and participating in transfer meetings.
  • Assisting students with educational planning, transcript evaluation, and referrals to support services.
  • Maintaining transfer policies, articulation agreements, and marketing transfer services.
  • Participating in faculty responsibilities, professional development, and college governance.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Counselor Credential, OR
  • Master’s degree in counseling or related fields, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).

Interviews are tentatively scheduled for late May to early June 2025, subject to change.
