About the Envision Program:

Envision offers community-based long-term residential treatment for female youth ages 11-19. The program is comprised of three supportive homes where young girls work closely with therapists and counselors to learn, grow, and heal. Envision provides diagnostic assessment, therapy, educational services, social skills training, and job readiness training to help youth lead happy, healthy, and independent lives.

Counselors work closely with the girls and their families for nine months up to one year to provide advocacy, individual, group, and family therapy, health and wellness services, educational services, and social skills training. The program sets out to reunify the youth with their families whenever possible or another safe living environment.

Position Summary:

Center For Family Services is seeking experienced and professional Residential Counselor for the Envision Program. The Residential Counselor position requires patience, dedication, understanding, and a passion for engaging and providing supervision and structure for youth living in a residential treatment setting. The Residential Counselor provides direct counseling services, instructs and guides youth informally throughout their day-to-day activities, and co-leads recreation and physical education activities.

Location: Hammonton, NJ

Work Status: Part-time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The Residential Counselor is a positive role model and provides life skills education for youth in the program.
  2. This individual completes documentation and other reporting requirements in a timely manner.
  3. Contributes on Agency committees and meets regularly with supervisor.
  4. Participates in other continuing professional development opportunities.
  5. Ensures that program structure is consistent with stated goals and objectives.
  6. Reports to and serves on the treatment team.
  7. Provides one-to-one assistance with difficult youth.
  8. Provides transportation to and from appointments.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate/GED required
  • At least 2 years' experience working with youth
  • Must have ability to provide leadership, be a role model, and relate positively to youth
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record of at least three years
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
