Heartland Youth Village is a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility opening Bardstown, Kentucky that serves the needs of children and adolescents with psychiatric, behavioral, and substance abuse issues.
Heartland Youth Village is seeking a full-time Mental Health Therapist/Counselor. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy for assigned residents at our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. Chosen candidate will also provide case management services which include coordination with referral sources, mental health centers, legal and criminal justice representatives to ensure continuity of treatment and discharge processes, staff training and development.
Other position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Actively Participates in development and implementation of Master Treatment Plan and updates as indicated by policy
- Provide therapy/counseling to residents utilizing professional counseling standards.
- Formulate short-term/long-term goals and counseling plans for patient care.
- Maintain as active caseload and ensures timely written documentation of counseling sessions, assessments, interventions and recommendations.
- Provide group and family therapy sessions including education of family regarding the resident's course of treatment, clinical diagnoses, and other issues deemed pertinent by the treatment team.
- Provide in-service training on relevant topics for co-workers.
- Participate in treatment team/patient care.
- Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings and workshops.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Human Service Related Field to include Social Work, Psychology or Mental Health Counseling
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Substance Abuse Treatment, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
