Summary

This job will pay $65-80k depending on experience, specifically with an insurance carrier.

Under the general direction of the Manager, Managed Care Services, provide services to injured workers to facilitate early return to work, appropriate medical care, maximum medical improvement, and timely case closure all of which serves to provide quality services to the injured worker while reducing the cost of claims.

Qualification

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

Position requires a Connecticut State licensed registered nurse or physical therapist. Professional designations within the field of work are preferred, such as Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Manager Specialist (CDMS) or Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN).

EXPERIENCE
Work requires at least five years of progressively responsible experience, which must include two-to-three years’ of clinical experience in an acute care setting, plus two to three years of specialized experience in occupational health, case management or rehabilitation, with special emphasis in an area prevalent in workers compensation claims.

INDEPENDENT ACTION
Incumbent receives general direction from supervisor; is expected to make autonomous decisions about workload management. Independent assessments and evaluations are made about each assigned case; incumbent will provide supervisor and Claims Representatives with periodic updates of all cases.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent will spend most of their time within an office environment but may travel to off-site appointments with providers, injured workers or employer locations occasionally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May spend extended periods at desk and in automobile.
