Compensation Range: $17/hr - $19/hr commensurate with experience

Overview

The Housing Works Emergency & Transitional Housing Program (ETH) provides time limited transitional housing and support services to individuals reentering the community following periods of incarceration or other justice system involvement. Program participants engage in a variety of onsite services, including case management, vocational training, housing advocacy and mental health support that address barriers to accessing housing in the community and help build skills that participants can use to achieve and maintain stable functioning in the community. Reporting to the Residential Aid Supervisor, the Residential Aid's primary responsibilities include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of program participants, engage in crisis intervention as needed and conduct facility operations tasks assigned.

Primary

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure program policies and regulations are adhere to by program participants and staff.
  • Ensure the safety, security and integrity of participants, staff and the physical environment of the program site.
  • Engage in appropriate crisis intervention as needed.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, room inspections and wellness checks in accordance to program policies.
  • Provides excellent customer service to program participants, staff, vendors, and volunteers
  • Distribute and monitor meals provided to program participants and assists with appropriately packing and storing food items in accordance with regulations.
  • Conduct timely room turnover and room inspection activities.
  • Perform light custodial work consisting of cleaning tables, sanitizing surfaces, spills or removal of trash.
  • Document incidents or interactions with program staff and participants in daily shift reports.
  • Maintains and updates program data and documents timely.
  • Ensures all program participants, staff, and vendors sign in upon arrival and sign out upon departure from the program site.
  • Communicate observations of participants' behaviors, or concerns, to the clinical care team.
  • Support the adherence of the program's Code of Conduct and report violations of the program rules and regulations.
  • Reports maintenance repairs needed to program and hotel management
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Promotes Housing Works' core values in day-to-day activities.

Secondary

  • Provides culturally competent services in accordance to Housing Works' policies and practices
  • Attend case conferences, all staff meetings and team meetings as scheduled.
  • Responsiveness to calls, texts, Teams messages, etc
  • Engages in Housing Works' advocacy events as required.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members within the Justice Initiatives department and cross-agency.
  • This position requires someone be onsite 100% of the time, which may require overtime or shift coverage.
