Pay Information
$1,400 to $1,550 per week

About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counsellor to join our psychiatric care team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, including mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and severe psychiatric conditions. This role involves both individual and group counselling within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Job Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications Float Requirement: Inpatient unit (Med Surg or PICU)

Weekend Requirement: As needed On Call

Requirement: None Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services, human services, education, biology, neuroscience, or a related field

• OR four (4) years of equivalent work experience in pediatric mental health Licensure/Certification:

• BLS/CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level) required

• De-escalation training (to be obtained within 90 days of hire; provided by CHCO)

• Safety Care certification (provided after orientation if not already held) Preferred Qualifications:

• Pediatric mental health experience, preferably in a hospital setting

• Previous travel experience required.

FLOAT: Client reserves the right to float or reassign Personnel to other areas of practice within their clinical competence to fulfil the scheduled guaranteed hours and within thirty-five (35) miles of their originally assigned facility (unless otherwise agreed to in such Personnel’s assignment confirmation).

Additional Information

• No RTO approved within the first two weeks of the assignment.

• Medical and religious exemption requests from the seasonal influenza vaccination are allowed.
