Job Description

Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.


We are currently recruiting for a Case Manager (Employment Specialist) position within our Assertive Community Treatment program. This position will provide will provide services in the individual’s home and in the community to support integration and stabilization.

Job Duties

Job Responsibilities


  • Provides a variety of vocational rehabilitative services in individual homes and various community locations, such as home shelters, jails, and other locations as well as in the home of the individual receiving services, utilizing individual, group, and family treatment modalities
  • Provides long-term support of individual’s progress through symptom stabilization, engagement in vocational services, and employment.
  • Collaborates and liaisons with law enforcement officers, local hospitals, medical providers, and others in the planning, provision, and evaluation of these services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications (EEO)

.Skills and Qualifications


  • Knowledge of adult and geriatric psychology in behavioral health and developmental services; of primary models for treatment of individuals having these problems; of appropriate methodologies for assessing psychopathology; and, of crisis intervention theory and techniques, and their application to individuals in crisis.
  • Knowledge and ability to help individuals find and retain competitive employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.
  • Possess the ability to interact with clients, coworkers, and the public in a pleasant, tactful and courteous manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A) required.
  • Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving required .
  • Minimum of one year direct service and vocational service experience in employment rehabilitation required.
