Nova Behavioral Health, Inc. is accepting resumes for a Behavioral Health Counselor in our Residential and Outpatient Divisions. The Behavioral Counselor provides individual and group counseling to promote optimum mental health and recovery from addictions. The Behavioral Counselor will help individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with mental and behavioral health disorders. The goal is helping the client to plan and work on their individual recovery and/or mental health.
Shift Information:
Position will be a 1st shift, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Minimum Education/Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in the treatment of Alcohol/Drug and Mental Health required.
  • Bachelors (Required).
  • LSW/LPC, LISW/LPCC or LMFT Required
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
The Behavioral Health Counselor will:
  • Assist in client treatment planning and case management by encouraging clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Insure compliance with program policies/procedures and goals by clients enrolled in Nova programs while maintaining the confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Assist in providing evidence-based treatment to clients-may include individual and group counseling, urine monitoring, report writing, and record keeping. Provide standard services to outpatient clients and/or direct services to clients as assigned guiding clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
  • Consult with the Outpatient Program Manager regarding case conferences and outreach activities.
  • Attend/participate in professional staff meetings, arrange case/family conferences, and other meetings. to provide case therapy services to clients and prospective clients.
  • Perform administrative functions as deemed necessary by the Outpatient Program Manager.
  • Manage case load and billed services to meet the expectations of productivity for this position.
  • Maintain records of treatment and services provided and report client information for billing and audit purposes.
