Job Description:

Blazer Jobs is currently hiring for a contract full-time Social Worker in Chesapeake, VA for a school-based position. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting students' mental health and well-being while working with families, educators, and community resources. This position is available in various formats: onsite, virtual, or travel.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and providing counseling services to students

  • Developing intervention plans and support services

  • Collaborating with families, teachers, and administration

  • Promoting students' emotional, social, and academic development

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)

  • Virginia state licensure required (LCSW or LSW)

  • Experience in school settings is preferred but not required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Federal & State Requirements (Virginia):

  • Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) or provisionally licensed (LSW) in Virginia

  • Background check required

  • Certification through the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE)
