General Responsibilities
- Holds BCBA certification
- Implement treatment plans and interventions developed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), utilizing sound judgment and seeking consultation when appropriate
- Collect accurate behavioral data, including A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording
- Develop written summaries of observational data for use by BCBA
- Provide direct intervention and social/emotional support to students
- Adjust, with educational team, behavior support plans for students
- Identify, prompt for, and reinforce safe and socially-acceptable replacement behaviors for students
- Provide support and coaching to teachers and staff on reinforcement strategies, without disruption to learning environment
- Support all students in building a repertoire of skills in communication, social interactions, and problem solving
- Participate in building-based Child Study Team meetings
- Bachelors degree, preferred, or comparable years of relevant work experience
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students with emotional, developmental, and learning disabilities, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorders, preferred
- Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis and discrete trial work, preferred
- Experience using consultant/interventionist models for behavior management, preferred
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, preferred
- Certified in physical restraint or willing to be certified, required
