Position Overview
We’re looking for dedicated Behavior Technicians to join our Norfolk team, providing 1:1 in-home ABA therapy for children with autism and developmental differences. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping children build critical life, social, and independence skills using individualized and evidence-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on behavioral support during everyday routines, play, and outings in the community
- Encourage skill development and promote independence throughout each therapy session
- Implement behavior intervention plans created by a BCBA and contribute relevant observations
- Accurately track behavior data, complete session notes, and monitor progress
- Stay in regular contact with your BCBA supervisor and engage in training and supervision sessions
- Ensure client confidentiality and uphold safety standards according to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with light household tasks or transportation, when appropriate
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is a plus
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, remain actively engaged (standing, kneeling, sitting), and respond quickly
- Willing to commute up to 30 minutes to client locations
- Eager to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 90 days—training provided
- Able to pass a background check
