Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate proficiency in various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. The Senior Substance Abuse Counselor will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and facilitate group therapy sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnostic evaluations of clients to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals and social workers, to provide holistic care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with coding standards.
  • Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on substance abuse prevention and recovery strategies.
  • Offer behavior management strategies to help clients cope with challenges during their recovery process.

Requirements

  • Valid licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC II) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience in mental health counseling or substance abuse treatment settings.
  • Proficiency in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, psychotherapy, and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating strong independent judgment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in substance abuse counseling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
