About Job

Major job duties

  • Depending on an applicant's preference, many duties can be performed remotely or in-person.
  • Travel to the lab is still required in some cases.
  • In-person duties include supervising the lab during open hours, conducting lab orientations, and demonstrating how to use lab equipment.
  • Duties that can be performed in-person or via Zoom are assisting students with research experiments and writing papers, basic data analysis and report writing, and assisting psychology faculty and staff with their research needs.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Student must be a psychology major or minor.
  • Must have completed General Psychology (PSYC100), Fundamentals of Psychological Science (PSYC200) and Research Methods (PSYC312), with above average grades in each course.
  • Requires knowledge of APA format and ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Understanding of research methodology is necessary and preference will be given to those that have an understanding of basic statistics.
  • Must be a student at Metro State University and eligible for work study.
