Position Overview

Oregon State Hospital is seeking a licensed Psychologist to join our team in Junction City, OR. This is a premium locum or locum-to-perm opportunity focused on providing care to patients with serious mental illness in a forensic setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced, compassionate, and committed to evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychological assessment and treatment to patients with serious mental illness in a forensic environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement care plans
• Utilize current assessment tools and treatment modalities
• Maintain accurate documentation using the Avatar EMR system
• Demonstrate cultural competency and a commitment to continuing education

Qualifications

• Licensure: Must hold an active Oregon Psychology license (no exceptions)
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar setting
• Board Status: No history of board complaints

Preferred Candidate Attributes

• Experience in forensic psychology and evidence-based practices
• Strong background in psychological assessments (work samples may be requested)
• Commitment to cultural competence and professional development

Patient Load & Team Structure

• Patient Volume: 10–15 patients per day
• Support Staff: 1 physician/support staff in department
