Helping Hands for Better Living ADHC has been dedicated to serving the intellectually disabled and medically frail adults of Orange County since 1998. Our center provides a range of services including nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology, and therapeutic activities designed by certified teachers, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our participants.

Summary

We are seeking a Spanish speaking Individual that possesses a BA degree in Social Work, Psychology or Human Services and also has an interest in arts/ crafts and activities that will allow you to also work in the therapeutic activities department. act. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being among our participants. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a supportive environment that enhances the daily lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of participants.
• Implement the prescribed social work/ case management services for assigned individuals.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure activities are conducted safely and effectively.
• Assess participant engagement and adapt programs as necessary to enhance participation.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into care plans.
• Summarize progress and provide feedback that will assist in future program services for the specific participant.
• Facilitate group discussions and encourage social interaction among participants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services or recreational therapy, or related field is required.
• Experience in program development or activity coordination within a healthcare setting is highly desirable but not required.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with participants and staff alike. Spanish speaking/ writing/ reading is required.
• Ability to manage crises with empathy and professionalism.
• Familiarity with social media posting is a plus!

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 37.5 per week
