General Description:

We are seeking a Lateral Intake Coordinator to join our team. The Lateral Intake Coordinator will be responsible for assisting lateral partners with efficiently opening their portable work. This role collaborates with the Lateral Partner and across the firm to ensure that an incoming lateral partner's clients are cleared, opened, and data is organized correctly. The Lateral Intake Coordinator supports lateral partners during their onboarding process and subsequently works with the partner's assigned Practice Assistant to provide ongoing support once the partner's clients are set up.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Inputs key data into Intapp Intake’s request form to open clients and matters for Lateral Attorneys. Understands key areas where data may get stuck and helps problem solve. Continues to push forward the process.
  • Prepares draft engagement letters for incoming lateral partners by taking the portable matters chart provided by the Lateral Conflicts team. Reviews the drafts with the lateral partner once they have started. Follows-up with lateral partner on missing data to ensure that clients get opened expeditiously.
  • Assists with data intake, helping to ensure various workflow steps are advancing, including, ensuring matter-opening process is followed and interfacing with Information Governance team for data movement to appropriate workspaces/access. Follows-up with various groups, as necessary.
  • Updates client statuses in Integration Plans while opening clients, sending out engagement letters, etc.
  • Ensures a smooth hand-off to assigned Practice Assistant for ongoing support after portable clients have been successfully opened at HK.
  • Interfaces and communicates regularly with lateral partner, the Conflicts Team, the Business Intake team, the Client Contracts team, the Lateral Conflicts team, the Information Governance team and the Lateral Integration team.
  • Tracks, analyzes and provides status updates related to opening new clients/matters and getting data set up.
  • Special project and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of client intake processes and data management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

This position may be filled in Illinois, District of Columbia, Washington, New York, Colorado or California. The base salary ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience. In addition to the base compensation, Holland & Knight provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.

  • Illinois – $34.50 - $51.70/hr
  • Washington - $34.50 - $51.70/hr
  • District of Columbia – $37.60 - $56.40/hr
  • New York City – $37.60 - $56.40/hr
  • New York State – $37.60 - $56.40/hr
  • Colorado – $31.40 - $47.00/hr
  • California – $37.60 - $56.40/hr
