Job Description: The Patient Care Coordinator will work largely independently, handling both check-in and check-out responsibilities. Coordinators are under the supervision of our General Manager, who works both remote and in-person. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dental practice administration and customer service in a fee-for-service practice model. This position handles the vast majority of patient communication, some treatment plan presenting, and various administrative tasks.

Prerequisites

  • 4 years dental practice administration

Responsibilities

Your Practice Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Answer phones and confirm appointments
  • Greet and check in patients
  • Follow all start of day procedures
  • Be present and at the workstation at the start of the scheduled shift and maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment
  • Work as part of a team with emphasis on communication
  • Maintain detailed patient records and send correspondences to referring providers
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with monthly goals
  • Accurately verify dental benefits
  • Collect payments and finalize treatment planning arrangements
  • Create, submit, and file insurance claims and pre-authorizations on the behalf of our patients
  • Keep office supplies in stock and ready for use
  • Be willing to participate in training to improve skills (communication, scheduling, case acceptance, leadership and management efficiency)
  • Assist doctor with presenting and/or explaining treatment plans, arranging patient financials per standard operating procedures
  • Support the marketing director and the office’s marketing initiatives
  • Follow all end of day procedures

Well Qualified Candidates Will Possess:

  • Be self-directed, accountable, task-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining a high standard for self and environment
  • Have a proficient grasp of the terminology and procedures of insurance filing and dental scheduling
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Be fearless in asking for large volumes of money from patients
  • Have a working knowledge of OpenDental practice management software (or similar platforms)

Experience

  • Previous experience in dental practice management, treatment planning, or dental practice reception
