About Job

Jewish Community Services (JCS) provides programs and services for people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them achieve their goals, enhance their wellbeing, and maximize their independence.

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Part-Time Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) Counselor to join our behavioral health team. The PRP Counselor is responsible for providing support and rehabilitation services to clients with mental health diagnoses, promoting recovery and independence through individualized treatment plans and structured activities. The PRP Counselor will manage a caseload of approximately 15–20 clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate individual and group rehabilitation sessions focused on life skills, coping strategies, and community integration.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation goals and objectives.
  • Support clients with accessing community resources, such as employment, housing, education, and healthcare services.
  • Document client progress, sessions, and communications accurately and timely in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and external providers to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and case reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with all agency policies, local, state, and federal guidelines including HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or rehabilitation services preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for community-based work.
Work Schedule:
  • Part-time: 20/week, flexible scheduling available including evenings
Compensation:
  • Starting hourly rate: $22.00/hr.
