About Job

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Michigan approval in school psychology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with parents and professionals associated with Special Education.
Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with special needs students.
  • Clinical experience with varied school related problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development.
  • Experience in cognitive function.
  • Experience with Community Mental Health, First Resources, and similar agencies.
  • Experience with the development of positive behavior support plans and Functional Behavior Assessment.
Transition planning.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Establish a schedule and conduct psychological evaluations of students.
  • Assist in crisis situations and develop behavior plans in cooperation with the professional staff.
  • Interpret psychological findings.
  • Consult with other professionals representing community resources.
  • Attend all staff meetings.
  • Attend and/or conduct staffing on students.
  • Conduct individual counseling with selected students.
  • Evaluate new methods and techniques in cooperation with the school staff.
  • Participate in the in-service and school improvement training programs.
  • Work with professionals to develop student goals and objectives.
  • Complete Medicaid forms.
  • Review all new files for accuracy of M-Team psychological, and IEPT reports.
  • Other assignments as determined by building administrator.

WORK YEAR : 186 day calendar

START DATE : Fall 2025

WORK LOCATION : Lutz School for Work Experience

SALARY : Per Macomb Intermediate Federation of Teachers Master Agreement.
