Position: Human Resource Generalist
Reports To: HR Director
Employment Type: Part-Time (24 hours per week)
Location: Hudson, WI (On-Site)
Summary of Position:
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support across a variety of areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, and HR administration. This role partners closely with leadership and employees to foster a positive, compliant, and productive workplace culture. The HR Generalist is a trusted resource for employees and leadership, delivering HR strategies aligned with business goals while supporting day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Post, manage, and track job openings on internal and external platforms.
- Conduct initial phone screens, schedule interviews, and participate in the selection process.
- Prepare and extend job offers; coordinate and conduct new hire orientations.
- Ensure seamless onboarding experience for all new hires.
- Represent RSG at job fairs and recruitment events.
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers, escalating matters when necessary.
- Support employee engagement efforts, including administering surveys and action planning (e.g., Gallup Q12 engagement initiatives).
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain and organize HR records (e.g., personnel files, AAP documents, compliance files).
- Support administration of employee transactions including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating HR policies to ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, and EEOC).
- Participate in audits and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
Employee Development & Training
- Assist in coordinating employee training sessions and development initiatives.
- Support performance management processes including tracking performance reviews and employee development plans.
Engagement & Employer Branding
- Partner with internal teams to develop and manage RSG's employer branding through social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
- Contribute to planning employee engagement events and recognition programs.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare HR reports, presentations, and surveys for leadership review.
- Analyze HR data and provide insights for improving retention, engagement, and workforce planning.
Other HR Support
- Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives and projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of progressive HR experience preferred; manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of HR principles and employment law compliance including FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA, and EEOC.
- Strong payroll background and familiarity with benefit administration.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); HRIS experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
