Patient Care Coordinator Receptionist
Job Description: As a Patient Care Coordinator Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, their families and referring dentists. You will play a critical role in managing incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing information about our procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care, and additional information about our surgeons and team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Ensuring we answered all questions and successfully assisted the caller prior to hanging up.
- Assist patients with scheduling appointments and provide accurate information about their treatment, appointments and procedures.
- Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Accurately document patient information and all correspondence and maintain confidentiality/HIPAA.
- Coordinate with medical team members and departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide information on billing and insurance, and other practice processes as needed.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- 1-2 years of customer service and/or phone representative experience required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software, including electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Able to travel to other locations as needed.
